I Initially worked as a secondary school science teacher after graduating from Southampton University with a degree in Biology and a Post Graduate Teaching Certificate from Goldsmiths College, London.
After having children, I made the move to primary education working in health promotion with local primary schools for the NHS and then working for an educational charity funded by Nottinghamshire Police.
I love encouraging children to ask the question ‘What happens If…?’ which Is the basis of good science. My eldest son has grown up with special needs, so I know first-hand how essential a SEND Co is to a child and their family.
Outside school I am a long-distance cold-water swimmer, if I am not working, I will most likely be shivering somewhere with a flask of hot tea
