The annual children’s art competition, Global Canvas is now open for entries. The theme for the 2021 competition is ‘Healing Nature- a Planet on the Edge’.
Children will need to think about the positive impacts their actions can have in helping to heal our planet and to show this in a fantastic display of art.
This competition is open to groups of children aged 16 and under. An entering group can be a group of friends, an art club, a class, a year group or an entire school.
The group or individual, will need to make a display based on the theme using any art techniques and mediums they like. The judges would love to see recycled materials being used to create displays.
Global Canvas is a worldwide competition with participating groups entering from Russia, Nigeria, China, and beyond!
In light of the current situation around Covid-19, being together in a group of children is not always possible. It is suggested that each member of the group independently creates a section of the display. The complete display can then be assembled and put together at a later date. It will be great to see the innovative and creative ways groups overcome distance and isolation through art.
It would be fantastic to see as many St Wystan’s pupils enter the competition, either individually or in groups!
